Student Appreciation Events

Throughout the year, Union and Involvement Services hosts multiple events within the Student Union Building to show our appreciation for the Truman student community. With an aim to foster a welcoming environment and to cultivate engagement within students, these events are catered towards all students to thank them for all they do on our campus and within our building.

Recurring Events

Subs in the Hub
Once a month we will serve variations of sub sandwiches for free in the Hub! Turkey, ham and vegetarian options are available for all students. Watch for times and dates on the involvement instagram so you know when to come join us for some free lunch!
Final Scream
Around finals time each semester we have an event to help students relax before their big exams. The sunday night before finals week we have a screaming contest, free food, and activities like bingo, trivia, yard games, and more! There’s also a chance to win prizes for participating in the activities. It’s a great way to take a study break and have a good time before the final stretch of the semester.
Weekly Piano Player
A few times a week, a student will be in the hub playing the piano for everyone to enjoy. We love creating a calm space in the building, and listening to piano music is a great way to do so. You can even recommend songs to be played, and you might recognize songs from some of your favorite artists!

Pop-Up Events

We look for any excuse to provide free food for the students here at Truman. Whether it’s muffins on National Muffin Day, brownies and valentine cookies for Valentine’s Day, or even a hunt for free coffee vouchers around the SUB, we love finding fun new reasons to show our appreciation. Follow our instagram to see when these pop up events are happening!
SUB and Spike’s Birthday
With the SUB’s birthday in the fall and Spike’s Birthday in the spring, we love to celebrate these days with some cupcakes, cookies, and gifts! Because of the amazing Truman Community, we are able to host birthday celebrations every year to show some love to our mascot and Student Union Building.
